Arab clothing and Muslim clothing

Arab clothing belongs to a cultural or geographical context, while clothing marketed as Muslim usually refers to modesty preferences or religious use. The expressions are not interchangeable. South Asian, West African and Indonesian outfits may be worn by Muslims without belonging to an Arab clothing tradition.

Practical checks: arab clothing and muslim clothing

Describe the cut and any origin claimed by the maker without assigning a religion to everyone wearing that style. The Dar al-Ifta reference below explains that Islam does not prescribe one regional form of dress. Shopping decisions are better grounded in verifiable features: fabric, desired coverage and suitability for the occasion.
